As Covid deaths soar and Trump dispatches secret police to Portland, NYC is hunkered down against a heat wave. Fortunately the time has proven productive and I’m making steady progress through Act III of Six Girl Smile. I’m also working with Shane Keene at Inkheist to do a special edition of Crime Wave devoted to the great Walter Mosely. We should be recording next week. I hope to get this done before Trump sends troops here, as Linda and I have already decided we will go out into the streets to hold the line–tear gas and rubber bullets are bound to screw up productivity. Stay low, people. Wash your hands, wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
